Larson Contracting Named 2008 Business of the Year by LMCDC
The Lake Mills Chamber Development Corporation announced Larson Contracting as the recipient of the Business of the Year award for 2008 during their annual meeting on Monday, January 26th.
Larson Contracting’s dedication to business improvement is evident in their continuous growth and expansion since their establishment in 1977. From a small team of eight employees, they have now become a company with around 120 staff members. This growth can be attributed to their ability to successfully complete a wide range of projects, from small additions to large office/warehouse facilities and grain bins. Larson Contracting takes pride in their ability to handle all aspects of a project, from site preparation to interior work, ensuring that their clients receive a comprehensive and seamless service.
One of the key factors that sets Larson Contracting apart is their commitment to delivering high-quality work while meeting deadlines and staying within budget. This reputation has been built on the dedication and expertise of their staff and employees. By focusing on providing exceptional service, Larson Contracting has been able to establish a loyal customer base that continues to rely on their services.
Employee development and safety are also top priorities for Larson Contracting. They understand that investing in their employees’ skills and knowledge is crucial for the success of their business. By providing training opportunities and promoting knowledge sharing within the company, Larson Contracting ensures that their staff members are equipped with the necessary tools to excel in their roles. Additionally, the company places a strong emphasis on safety, implementing measures to protect their employees and maintain a secure work environment.
Larson Contracting’s commitment to excellence has been recognized through various awards and accolades. In 2007, they were honored with the Butler and Brock awards, further solidifying their reputation as a leader in the industry. These awards serve as a testament to their dedication to delivering exceptional workmanship and customer satisfaction.
In 2005, Larson Contracting expanded their operations by establishing Albert Lea Public Warehouse in Lake Mills. This expansion allowed them to serve a wider customer base and further contribute to the local economy. Throughout the years, Al and Linda have made giving back to the community a top priority. Larson Contracting has been a consistent supporter of the Lake Mills Fire Department and Lake Mills Ambulance, with some employees even serving on the LM Fire Department. The company also generously donated land to the Lake Mills Area Historical Society for the Country School Museum. In addition, Larson Contracting employees have contributed funds to provide clothing and essentials for families in need during the holiday season. When colleagues faced personal challenges, the team rallied together to offer support, such as constructing a handicap accessible room and donating a portion of their earnings to assist an ill coworker. Last fall, Larson Contracting took on the role of general contractor for Extreme Makeover- Home Edition, despite knowing it would be a costly endeavor as all materials and labor had to be donated. By collaborating with vendors and contractors, they successfully built a new home for a deserving family.
Overall, Larson Contracting’s recognition as the Business of the Year for 2008 by the Lake Mills Chamber Development Corporation is a testament to their commitment to business improvement, employee training, knowledge sharing, community involvement, and philanthropy. Their dedication to excellence, safety, and customer satisfaction has positioned them as a trusted and respected contractor in the industry.
